WWP

Whoever thought that organizing an 8K that involves crossing bridges in September obviously isn't as out of shape as I am.  My little sister Kari works in the Legal Department at Wounded Warrior Project so when it was time to raise money for an event I got suckered in.  Thanks to so many friends and family Grant and I were able to raise enough money to cover the fundraising goal for each of us.

We got up early, drove downtown, ran into co-workers and friends and then off we went.  Unfortunately I had taken a few months of from the gym so this race didn't come at the most opportune time.  I did have a few goals 1. finish the race and 2. don't be the last one.  Thankfully I did accomplish both goals, but not before thinking that I was going to pass out when so close to the end.

I'm proud of myself for finishing, for all of the volunteers, my sister for making me volunteer and the soldiers who dedicate themselves each day.  As for the 2014 race I can safely report that I won't be running as my sister is moving to Jersey and I won't get suckered in this year.
