Mini Models

Every once in a while my little fashionistas are just too cute not to grab the camera and take a few photos.  I should probably do this more often, but I really do get lazy and quite frankly I never take the time to edit any of my photos.  The more shocking part is when I place my twice a year shutterfly order and the total comes to a triple digit total no matter how many coupons I find.
Just another Spring day in the front yard.

Anything you can do I can do better.
My name is Penelope and I am super silly.
Tired of pictures I guess, because she ran away from me.

Feeling Artsy

So every once in awhile my sister ropes me into doing things that are simply ridiculous.  I'm not saying that I don't do the same to her, but that is a whole different post.  This time she actually picked something close to home, there were no babies in sight and the alcohol was flowing so I was in for some...painting.  I've done this type of group outing in the past, but it has been a few years so why not do it again.
The weather was gorgeous so we were able to paint on the patio of Island Life Grill.  Oh and note to the locals, Island Life has a great cucumber margarita.  The class was about two hours which was just long enough that I didn't start to go crazy sitting still.  That brings up a whole different topic, but since the babies I can't seem to sit still for very long.  You would think I would enjoy sitting quietly at the salon for a few hours or with adults only at these group outings, but silly me starts getting anxious about getting home.
Until next time...happy painting.

Favorite Friends

So far this year you have heard me go on and on about the McCotter Family and our trip to Disney, now I would like to reintroduce you to some of our favorite Jacksonville people.  The new house has us wanting to have people over all of the time however all of those other pesky things in life like work, school and chores don't always allow it to happen.  We thought that we were getting everyone together for one last use of the fire pit before the heat started to set in, little did we know that in March we would still be wearing jackets.
No themes of long invite lists this time, just those nearest and dearest to our hearts.  What could be better than a casual night of friends, food, drinks, s'mores, games and thanks to the boys a whole lot of laughs.  Oh and my children who were up way past their bedtime and instead of turning into monsters they turned into a little show of their own.  Home wouldn't be home without all of these fabulous people in our lives.

This is when silly was kicking in.

T - Rex

Wake up Daddy, it is Day 2 of fun with Kyler!

After a fun filled day in the Magic Kingdom we thought it would be best if we took things easy for a day.  After rolling Grant out of bed, running into a past co-worker in the hotel lobby (weird) and a Tazo Refresh Tea we were off to Downtown Disney which was across the street from the hotel for us so no shuttle today.  We all arrived at the same time and as soon as the kids saw each other they started running around like crazy.  What were we going to do first?  Too many options, but they did just about everything including toy shopping, carousel ride, train ride and climbing on every character that they could find.

All Aboard!

Yep, another character nose check.

Go horsey GO

In the last few weeks at school A has been learning about dinosaurs so imagine my excitement to take her to see dinosaurs and eat be able to watch them while we ate lunch.  Epic Fail!  We walked in and I could tell that A was a little hesitant about these giant creatures and then when they started making noise and moving it pushed the poor girl over the edge.  Surprise, this happens every twenty minutes which meant that I had 28 pounds of scared in my lap every twenty minutes.  Least favorite animal was the "fuzzy elephant."

While A was sitting at the table scared there was a little romance happening across the table with P and Kyler.  They couldn't get enough of the little hugs, poor Daddy and his heart.

The end of the weekend had to come eventually and after lunch and a little extra running around we had to say our goodbyes to the McCotter Family.  Elizabeth has a photo of the whole group, wishing I would have remembered to ask for that so that I could share here.

Two really good signs of a fun weekend and below.  These little angels slept all the way to St Augustine, ahhh some quiet for Mommy and Daddy.

Happiest Friends On Earth

This family is blessed beyond words when we look at the friends and family that we have in our lives.  So when we get to go to the Happiest Place on Earth with some of our Favorite Friends on Earth, this family gets really excited.

Elizabeth, Jason and Kyler spent an entire week at Disney, but we only butted into their vacation for two days.  On our first day we went to Magic Kingdom.  After a few hugs for everyone and a shirt comparison for the kids (they matched thanks to Elizabeth), we were in line ready for our first ride.  A's favorite ride was the tea cups, Kyler's too and he knows how to spin the wheel all too well.

The kids were buddies quickly, I guess Adelaide forgot that the last time she saw Kyler he kept pulling her hat over her face.  There was hand holding between all three of the kiddies and true patience on every ones part when it came to waiting in line.  Next it was time for a little lunch with some special Disney friends.  Elizabeth booked lunch for us at the Crystal Palace with Pooh and all of his friends.  I'm pretty sure there was more picture taking then eating, because it was fun to see all of the classics though the kids probably didn't know who they were.  Penelope's fascination with noses continued, every time a character would bend down to her level she would poke them in the nose and start giggling.

At this point there was no standing still for photos.

The faces of two exhausted girly girls.

All of this activity meant a nap was necessary for this family so back to the Hilton we went.  Three hours later and we were back on the shuttle for our night time fun.  We arrived in plenty of time to get a primo spot upstairs so that we could watch the electric parade below.  While we were waiting Jason was the hero because he bought each of the kids glowing gadgets.  This is also where A learned about Jake and the Neverland Pirates.  This Mommy has never seen the Electric Parade before so I may have been more excited when it started then anyone.

Thank goodness we picked a spot up high

Everyone was excited after the parade so we decided to make our move to another area to see the fireworks.  This is where we found out that A does NOT like fireworks.  This new phase of being scared of everything is getting old fast.

The positive of A not liking fireworks is that we were able to jump on a few rides while everyone else was in front of the castle.  After the rides it was dance party time with Goofy.  P was exhausted by this point, but this was probably A's favorite part of the day.

Here we are on the People Mover
We will have to dig this photo out again when they are teenagers and this type of activity is prohibited.
Jason had the locator system

Go Goofy, Go Goofy

Ok, that's it we are all exhausted.  Off to the shuttle back to the hotel where there are sweet mickey dreams.
