A Little Escape

It would have been easy for us to load the kids into the car, drive 40 minutes to the beach and a few hours later head home, but over Labor Day we decided to mix it up a little bit.  The new game plan was to throw the kids in the car, drive a little over an hour to Ormond Beach and stay in a hotel for a few nights. I have to say that it was one of our brighter ideas because it ended up being one of the most relaxing weekends we have had in a long time.
YaYa and Grr were along for the trip which was an added bonus for the girls, more people to entertain and be entertained by.  While on this trip I realized that we have never taken the girls to play mini golf and now that they have experienced it A asks to go all of the time.  It really was the perfect weather weekend for our trip including a warm breeze which made us feel like we could have been in the Caribbean somewhere instead of an hour away from home.

The lady has gone bananas.
I also have to mention that this weekend marked fifteen years of togetherness for Grant and I and the best part of the weekend was realizing that 11 years ago Grant and I started our lives together right here in Ormond Beach.  We bought our first house, I got my first grown up girl job and we experienced the ups and downs of our first year of marriage.  All these years later and those ups and downs are long gone and I can't wait to celebrate a whole lifetime with this guy.

She was getting so mad because he kept photo bombing her.
If you look closely you will see what P is so proud of, YaYa's lipgloss.

After a fun day it was nice to come back to the hotel and sit by a fire on the beach, well until some creepy kid kept setting things on fire.

There they are, some of our favorite friends came to join us too.  Anna and Andy came down for a little R&R, too bad we stuck them with kid entertainment.

Ahh, aren't they cute AND questionable.

Had to represent the Big Orange here too.
These little monsters have no idea that Ormond Beach was where their Mommy and Daddy started their grown up life together.
Boys being boys.

All of our years of friendship and we always end up with the goofiest pictures.

You will find us on this piece of beach again, but until then we are playing soccer EVERY weekend and this year it is double-time.
