The Million Dollar Photo

The truth is that I am a sucker for charities.  When people ask me personally to attend a function, run a race, collect donations or pretty much anything for a charity that I believe in I almost always attend.  About two years ago I bid on a photography package that I intended on giving my mom as a Mother's Day gift.  It took us a year to get the family together for a photo shoot at the beach which wasn't at a local beach, we get there and 10 minutes into it starts raining but we thought that there were a few good pics taken.  Surprise, a few weeks later we find out that the memory card had an issue and all of the pics were lost.
After another 6 months of trying to get the gang together we decided that the gift picture would only be of the little girls.  I figured that we would give the included print to my mom but G and I would dress up as well and then buy additional family photos.  This photo shoot was to take place at the Cummer Museum on a Saturday morning when the girls would be at their best.  Just kidding!!!  It had to be just about the hottest mornings I could remember, we were sweating before the first pic was taken and the girls were on their worst behavior and were going into complete meltdown mode.  At the end of the day we did get a few good pics and then it was into the museum for some much needed air conditioning.  Once we were inside things got much better as they do have a nice children's section to play in.  We ended the day at one of our favorite restaurants, 13 Gypsies.

It was a good thing that I had taken a few pics with my camera because after pay a few hundred dollars as the initial donation for the package they wanted to charge $150 per picture print and that didn't include any digital images.  $150 for a print, you have got to be kidding me!!!
