Just get lost

The interesting thing about Venice is that the best thing you can do is forget your map and just get lost in the alleys and bridges.  Yes, you may pass by the same restaurants and hotels a few times, but that is ok.  Thank goodness we were visiting during off season, because I can not imagine trying to battle the crowds in the narrow areas if there were quadruple the visitors.
